Re-animating the curlew: a ritual of hope and renewal

A definition of ritual is:

noun: a religious or solemn ceremony consisting of a series of actions performed according to a prescribed order.

adjective: relating to or done as a religious or solemn rite.

I’m not sure I’ve anything to add to that other than to state that this may be the most important thing I do. And to thank the Arts Council of Wales and Ruthin Craft Centre for providing me with the wherewithal, financial and otherwise, to create the paper cut-outs and the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB Sustainable Development Fund for enabling the ceremony to take place in Ysgol Dyffryn Iâl and Ysgol Pen Barras.

May it be re-enacted many more times.
